FAQ 1: How do I delete my account?
Answer:
To permanently delete your Symplara account:

  1. Open Symplara

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Tap "Account Settings"

  4. Scroll to bottom and tap "Delete Account"

  5. Confirm deletion
    This will:

  • Delete your account permanently from your device
    Alternatively, email us at hello@symplara.com with "Delete My Account" in the subject line, and we'll process your request within 48 hours.

FAQ 2: How do I cancel my subscription?
Answer:
Symplara subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store. We don't have access to cancel them directly.
To cancel your annual subscription:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone

  2. Tap your name at the top

  3. Tap "Subscriptions"

  4. Find "Symplara" in the list

  5. Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period.

FAQ 3: What data does Symplara collect?**
Answer:
We do NOT collect:

  • Usage data or analytics

  • Practice session information

  • Behavioural tracking data

  • Device information (beyond basic OS requirements)

  • Location data

  • Any data for advertising purposes
    Everything you do in the app (practices, settings) stays on your device only.

FAQ 4: How do I export my data?
Answer:
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you can export it anytime:

  1. Open Symplara

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Tap "Download My Data"

  4. Choose export format (JSON or CSV)

  5. Share via email, Files app, or other apps
    The export includes:

  • Your device detail

  • Your settings and preferences

  • Any notes or customisations

This data is yours. You can use it however you want.

FAQ 5: What's included in the free version?
Answer:
The free version includes:

  • Breathing Reset (full, unlimited)
    2-minute nervous system regulation

  • Focus Timer (25 minutes)

FAQ 7: How do I restore my purchase?
Answer:
If you purchased Pro but it's not showing:

  1. Open Symplara

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Tap "Upgrade"

  4. Tap "Restore" in the top left

  5. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase
    Your Pro access will be restored immediately.

If this doesn't work:

  • Make sure you're using the same Apple ID

  • Check your purchase history in App Store

  • Contact us at hello@symplara.com with proof of purchase

FAQ 8: Is Symplara a medical app?
Answer:
No. Symplara is a wellness app for self-regulation, not a medical device.

It provides:

  • Evidence-based breathing practices

  • Focus tools for work/study

  • Wind-down practices for rest

It does NOT:

  • Diagnose medical conditions

  • Treat mental health disorders

  • Replace professional medical care

  • Make therapeutic claims

If you're experiencing severe stress, anxiety, or mental health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

FAQ 9: Why do you charge for the app?

We don't sell your data or run ads. We charge fairly for honest tools.

All practices work without internet connection:

FAQ 11: Can I use Symplara on multiple devices?
Answer:
Your Pro purchase works on all devices linked to your Apple ID.
However, your practice data does NOT sync between devices because we use local storage only (no cloud sync = no tracking).
This means:

  • Pro features available on all your devices

  • But practice history stays on each device separately

Why no sync?
Privacy. We can't sync what we don't have access to.

FAQ 12: I found a bug. How do I report it?
Answer:
We appreciate bug reports. They help us improve.

To report a bug:

  • What you expected to happen

  • Steps to reproduce (if possible)

  • Device model and iOS version

  • Screenshots (if helpful)

Yes. We welcome thoughtful feature suggestions.

We consider suggestions that align with our principles:

We can't implement every suggestion, but we read and consider all of them.
Digital minimalists have good ideas about what they need. We're listening.
